Tax bills for the Town of Mendon go out around the end of July every year with payments always due on the second Monday of September the first year and the second Monday of March the second year.
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2026 NO MORE POSTMARKS ACCEPTED! Payments are due by 6:00 p.m. on the due date (late if after 6:00 p.m.). According to state statutes (32 V.S.A., 1674), any payments not received in the office by the first due date are subject to 1% interest per month, in addition any payments not received by the second due date will be automatically subject to an 8% penalty and1% interest per month or any part thereof.
There are several ways to pay your bill:
Set up automatic recurring payments through your checking or savings account to be automatically deducted on payment due dates. You may obtain a copy of the form either by using the following link or contacting the office at 802-775-1662. Automatic Tax Payment Program
Pay by Credit card, Debit card or E-Check by visiting our website at https://mendonvt.gov/payonline/ (there is a fee for this service)
Place your payment in the secure gray mailbox in front of the building. It will be checked several times a day M-Th. Include your e-mail address if you’d like a receipt. No Cash Please
