TRAFFIC ORDINANCE
SECTION V SPEED LIMITS
The Traffic Ordinance was amended and adopted by the Town of Mendon Selectboard on October 14, 2025. The purpose of the amendment is to lower the speed limit of US Route 4 at mile marker 0.00 +/- at the Rutland Town/Mendon Town Line to mile marker 1.56 +/- at .03 +/- mile west of Medway Road. This Ordinance shall become effective 60 days after the adoption on December 13, 2025 unless a petition is filed under 24 V.S.A. § 1973. The voters of the Town of Mendon have the right to petition the Selectboard to reconsider the adoption of this ordinance at a Special Town Meeting provided that such petition is presented to either the Selectboard or Town Clerk no later than November 28, 2025.
