Effective July 1, 2022, a Vermont marriage license can be obtained from any Vermont town/city clerk; there’s no longer a requirement for Vermont residents to go to their local clerk’s office.
A civil marriage application must be completed and signed by both parties before the license can be issued.

The State of Vermont does not require that both parties come in to get the license but both must sign the application form.
Once the official license is issued it is valid up to 60 days before the ceremony.
The couple is free to marry and no witnesses, waiting period or blood tests are required.
The fee for a marriage license is $80.00 plus $10.00 if you would like to prepay for a certified copy of the license we will mail to you after the service.
