Wheelerville Road Culvert 07-42 Replacement Project
Sealed bids from qualified contractors shall be accepted until 2:00 PM prevailing time on February 27, 2020 at the Mendon Town Offices, 2282 U.S. Route 4, Mendon, VT 05701, for construction of the project hereinafter described. Bid opening will occur immediately after the bid submittal deadline. The time of receiving and opening bids may be postponed due to
emergencies or unforeseen conditions.

Community Visit Program

The Town of Mendon needs your help. The Vermont Council on Rural Development offers towns a program which is designed for community members to prioritize and choose strategic goals and vision for their community. A state-wide visiting resource team will be available to provide advice and expertise to help them get there. A Community Visit meeting will be held in April to identify community goals. The Town of Mendon is seeking 2 more volunteers to join a steering committee to organize the visit and implement strategies to promote community involvement at the meeting. This is a limited time commitment. This program cannot happen without volunteers. Please contact Sara Tully, Town Administrator if you are interested in helping or have questions about the program. Extended Tax Hours

Taxes are due March 9, 2020.

The Town of Mendon will have extended office hours as follows:
Thursday March 5 open 8:00am – 6:00pm
Friday March 6 open 8:00am -12:00pm
Monday March 9 open 8:00am – 6:00pm

In accordance with State Statutes, any tax payments not physically received in the office or postmarked with a U.S. Postal Service postmark by Monday March 9, 2020 shall be subject to an 8% penalty and 1% interest per month, or any part thereof.

Adoption of an Updated Town Plan

Thanks to a Municipal Planning Grant, the Mendon Planning Commission has worked with the Rutland Regional Planning Commission to comprehensively update the Mendon Town Plan. The proposed Mendon Town Plan has been updated to better conform to Vermont State Statute (24 VSA Chapter 117) and to better serve as an important guidance document for the next eight years.

Copies of the Draft Town Plan are available at the Town Clerk’s Office, at the Mendon Town Garage, and on the Town website at Draft Town Plan

 The Selectboard Meeting scheduled for January 13th at 5:30 PM at the Town Office has been changed to January 14th at 8:30 AM at the Town Office.

BUUSB At-Large seat open

The Barstow Unified Union School Board has one At-Large seat open this election cycle. This member can be a resident of either Mendon or Chittenden. It is a three-year term. If you are interested in running, please email Deborah Singiser, Chair ([email protected]) for a petition and consent form. Completed petitions and Consent of Candidate forms are due to the respective town clerks by Monday, January 27th.
